The
TCI Education Foundation,
a charitable organisation founded in Providenciales in 1993,
owns and operates the
British West Indies Collegiate,
located in central Providenciales. The major funding for the
school has been provided by the family of the late Robert
Krieble and his wife, the late Nancy Brayton Krieble. It was
Mrs. Krieble and her family who, when the TCI
Education Foundation saw the need for a multi-purpose hall,
donated a further $1.3 million to enable the hall to be built. Brayton
Hall
was named in her honour.
Brayton Hall evolved from its original concept of a multi
purpose hall when Barbara and Mark Pankhurst showed an interest
in expanding the concept of the Hall to incorporate a
state-of-the-art performing arts venue. The TCFAF, once
formed, has become a significant catalyst to enable this
evolution to take place. Brayton Hall was officially opened on
November 8, 2002, with TCFAF’s Opening Night Gala of
Broadway Our Way.
The expectation is that Brayton Hall will become one of the
principal venues and training centers for performing arts in
Turks & Caicos, because of the generous donation of $300,000
from TCFAF to purchase state-of-the-art lighting, sound, stage,
and curtain systems, as well as the tireless efforts of its
members and friends to bring the best of performing arts to its
stage.
Brayton Hall is
available for rent directly from the Collegiate by contacting
them at
